Fair officially opens on Wednesday but there are events scheduled on Monday and Tuesday. Columbia County Fairgrounds at Veterans' Memorial Field in Portage There is no gate fee nor parking fee. Admission is charged for the grandstand events. The carnival charges for rides, etc.

Welcome to the very first Columbia County Fair Virtual Showcase! At last week’s Columbia County Fair Board meeting, it was decided to offer a virtual way for exhibitors to be able to exhibit their projects and hard work. Therefore, a People’s Choice contest for the 2020 Columbia County Fair was created. Junior and Senior Citizen exhibitors (Note: there will not be open class exhibits this year) may complete the Google form (link below) and enter up to 2 of their projects in 2 of the 8 categories available. You may only enter 2 projects per exhibitor this year because of the nature of this virtual fair. So, choose your best and submit them to the showcase. You will choose the categories and upload photos/ videos of your project. Then, during the usual Columbia County Fair week, the projects from the different categories will be posted on the Columbia County Fair -- Portage, WI 53901 Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Columbia-County-Fair-Portage-WI-53901-360612694781/ . For the duration of fair week, Facebook users will be able to vote for their favorite projects in each category. At the end of fair week, 6 pm Sunday, July 26th, a first and second place will be chosen and announced from each category! There will be no premiums, ribbons or trophies awarded this year. Note: There is a category for our animal and livestock exhibitors! This will look much different than a typical show would, but gives you an opportunity to display your animals and skills for all to see. Please submit an educational video of you and your animal either showing it, preparing it for show, telling us how you got involved with showing animals, etc. Be creative and show off your best animals and skills! You can submit up to a 2-minute video of you showing and talking about your animal project! Have fun and be creative!
