Wisconsin's new concealed carry law went into effect on November 2, 2011. In order to apply for a permit to carry a concealed weapon, individuals must pass a background check. Although the amount of handgun safety training is up to each individual, guided training by law-enforcement trained instructors will teach safe methods of carrying a concealed weapon.
