Historic Indian Agency House 2010 Photo Contest

The Historic Indian Agency House is calling for submissions to their 2010 Photography Contest. This year the contest theme is "Fur, Fins and Feathers" with entrants encouraged, but not required, to incorporate the theme into their photographs.

The contest runs from May 15 to September 01, with entries (in 4x6 print format) accepted at the Agency House Visitors' Center during regular business hours. All photographs must be taken at the historic site during the period of the contest. Entries will be grouped into three age categories: Youth (12 and under), Teen (13 to 17), and Adult (18 and up). To help cover display costs, a $5 submission fee per photograph will apply. All entries will be displayed throughout the open season for guests and staff to enjoy.

The photographs will be judged by Portage notables Mayor Ken Jahn, photographer Fred Galley, framer Vicki Binder, and Portage High School photography instructor Valerie Banks. The winners of the contest will be announced September 18 at HIAH's Living History Weekend. First place photos will be professional matted and framed through the generosity of Galley and Binder.
