Rio 2013 Home and Garden Tour

A tour of five private gardens, the Rio Community Club "depot" garden, and the Rio Library garden.  Also included is the opportunity to tour a country home with great views, many antiques, and extensive remodeling (much using wood harvested on the property).  Unique to this year's tour is a sustainable "homestead in creation" with a home powered by geothermal and solar, and featuring many innovative garden techniques.  A salad lunch is available Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm at the Rio High School.  There is also a raffle for a beautiful quilt made by the Rio Quilt Guild, garden items and much more.  The event is sponsored by the Blooming Buddies Garden Club and the Rio Area Library Friends (RALF).  All proceeds benefit the Rio Community Library.
