In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the Historic Indian Agency House is hosting a 4-part speaker series exploring military engagements of the 19th century and their connection to and impact on Wisconsin history.
Installment 2 of 4:
Dr. Kerry A. Trask, distin-guished UW-Manitowoc history professor and author of
"Black Hawk: The Battle for the Heart of America,"
discusses how this almost mythologized clash of cultures shaped Wisconsin, including the influence of key historical players Black Hawk, Henry Dodge and Henry Atkinson.
A fresh interpretation
of an event that has long been a part of the
Midwest collective memory.
