Remembrance Event
Join us in acknowledging important history as we walk the 1.25-mile route of the Fox-Wisconsin portage (Wawa’ąįja) — a location of significance in Ho-Chunk forced displacement by the U.S. government. Learn about these experiences and commemorate the enduring presence of Ho-Chunks in our communities today in light of all this trail represents. Ho-chunk Nation Chief Clayton Winneshiek will make remarks at the walk's destination. Shuttle available for those who cannot walk the 2-mile round trip route. This is a free event.
