Habitat for Humanity of the Wisconsin River Area and Portage ReStore are hosting a 9/11 Veteran’s Day of Service & Remembrance Ceremony in Portage. This ceremony will remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day as well as recognizing those who rose up in response to 9/11. Local and state dignitaries have been invited to speak. This ceremony is open to the public to show support. Following the Ceremony veterans are invited to participate in a community service project to assemble & pack community donated items in care boxes, that will be taken to local First Responders throughout Sauk and Columbia counties to show gratitude and support for what they do on a daily basis. This project will give veterans the opportunity to give back to the community. Both Baraboo and Portage ReStores will be collecting product items from the public prior to the ceremony for the care packages. We welcome all businesses, community organizations, and citizens of Sauk and Columbia counties to bring donations to the ReStores by Saturday, September 9th to show your support!
